Story of the Home

A two bedroom, two bathroom split level apartment set over the ground and lower ground floors of a grand Georgian building on Devoshire Place, in the heart of Marylebone Village.

In the sellers words: "Devonshire Place has always been one of my favourite streets in Marylebone Village. The magnificent Georgian architecture makes it feel extremely grand, and its position close to Marylebone High Street is very convenient.

The communal entrance has been refurbished recently, and really highlights the period features. The apartment is at the back of the building making it incredibly quiet and private.

The sitting room has imposing high ceilings and an attractive fireplace, the large kitchen has room for a four-seater dining table and has Italian marble countertop and Gagganau appliances.

Both the kitchen and reception room look out onto the flat roof which has been used as a terrace by the previous five owners. It’s such a nice place to sit out and unwind.

Having looked for over a year before I purchased this place, I can confirm it is very hard to find usable and bright outside space in this area of Marylebone.

The principal bedroom feels very luxurious, and the en-suite bathroom has twin sinks and a large shower. The second bedroom is also a large double room with plenty of built in storage and access to a second shower room.

Being so close to Marylebone High Street is great for shopping and eating out. The café at the Conran Shop is a great place to pick up a coffee and cake. My favourite spot for dining is Blandford Street, there are some lovely independent restaurants. My recommendation is ‘Blandford Comptoir’, they serve authentic Mediterranean food and fantastic wine. A few doors away is IL Baretto which must be one of the best Italian restaurants in London.

I can also walk to Bond Street, Mayfair, and Soho within 15 minutes. With Regents Park so close it’s nice to take a walk on the weekends. Travelling around London is also very easy with Baker Street, Bond Street & Great Portland Street Underground Stations all close by."
