Story of the Home

An architecturally designed, mid-century four bedroom town house with large roof terrace. Further accommodation comprises, reception room, dining room, three bathrooms, a guest cloakroom, double garage and two parking spaces. Regents Park and Marylebone High Street are just a short walk away.

In the owners words: ‘’We had been looking for a few years and saw many properties but none of them ticked all the boxes.

What stood out about Beaumont Street was the double garage and off-street parking for two cars, unparalleled in Marylebone. The roof terrace and the views over the rooftops, as well as the blank slate that allowed us to bring our dream of a mid-century modern home into reality.

We completely removed everything internally and brought the house back to bare brick and rafters, before renovating from scratch.

This fresh start offered us limitless possibilities, and allowed us to implement both ours, and our architects vision for the home we truly wanted.

With Miele and Gaggenau kitchen appliances, Vola and Duravit sanitaryware, as well as custom made ironmongery for the pocket sliding doors and bespoke cabinetry and wardrobes, we made a cohesive home for ourselves where everything works and has a place.

Lutron lighting, CAT5e cabling, Ubiquiti mesh WiFi and everything else you would expect in a 21st century home, all encased in a mid-century modern exterior.

The morning sun hits the back of the home and the kitchen, afternoon sun shines in the living room, and the roof terrace gets the sun all day. We will particularly miss the evening sun on the roof terrace, a great place to escape from the hustle and bustle of London life.

The ginkgo biloba trees on Beaumont Street turn a brilliant yellow in autumn, and Regents Park is also just a short walk away. The Rose Gardens in the Inner Circle in the summer are very special.

While Marylebone High Street, is just one minute’s walk away, the house is on such a quiet street and there is a zen-like tranquillity when returning home.

Marylebone High Street has everything one would need. The Sunday market is very popular, and the ease of getting into Mayfair, Soho and the West End on foot is very convenient.

The local area also has world class galleries and music venues including Wigmore Hall, The Wallace Collection, the Royal School of Music… and, oh yes, the 90% congestion charge discount!"
